6th Annual Jeanneau Rendezvous on the

Chesapeake Bay – Herrington Harbor South--French style!

 Bay Yacht is pleased to host the 6th Annual Jeanneau/and first Fountaine Pajot  Rendezvous on the Chesapeake Bay.  All Jeanneau and FP owners, families and friends will be welcomed to participate in a special “Vive La France” weekend packed with sailing, informative seminars, prizes, food, entertainment and meeting fellow Boatowners.

Following is the itinerary.  Registration confirmation and further details will be mailed prior to the Rendezvous.. we hope to see you there!!

Itinerary

Friday, July 24 (BYA       6:00 – 9:00   Get reacquainted at LGC grounds next to Chart House. French themed, pot luck dinner. Prizes for best main course, appetizer or desert. French wine is not optional!

 Saturday July 25th, Le Mans start, race and Poker run to Herrington Harbor South.  Seminars, volley ball, family activities and lots of prizes.

Sunday Brunch and recap--group meeting for those going on to NE        

Seminar program for Saturday:

  • Camille about doing the Ship Mates safety seminar

  • Bill Beck will give his "Comfortable Cruising" presentation

  • Webster Crew will do an ICW presentation.

Lunch, tech talks

  • Bob Pierce the lunch/roundtable topics. Small groups with tech talks.

  • Q&A Kenny Krasco-Engineered Marine Systems.

  • Douglass Dillard, a successful, on-board amateur chef, will work with some French recipes, which the cooks in your crew can enjoy tasting, while the rest of the crew is at the Tech talk seminars.

Rudy will again be available to handle the prize announcements!

Prize for best French foods on Friday.

Prize: Perpetual trophy plaque for winner.

Prizes for just about everything, including the race!

Prize for ugliest tie—all other apparel optional.

Prize for longest spoon held to nose contest

Prize—rope toss contest

Prize—best photograph of your boat in any setting

Race Information…

Bobby Allen will act as race committee chairman. At the horn, at the dock at BYA Saturday 10:00, you may be as prepared, or not prior—motor out to Green Buoy 15  off the mouth of Spa creek—turn off motor--Note engine hours—assume you already have sails up (Hint go full blast so you coast as long as possible after motor turned off as your bow approaches green marker!). Sail to Herrington Harbor South. All short cuts legal. At point, when First seawall bears 90 degrees off port, Note engine hours, turn motor on. Any time you ran the motor will be added to your total time so motor or sail as much as you like--who knows the right combination? Prizes for first 3 boats anchored or tied up, at the dock, with cocktails in hand for all of the crew! 

(The Chesapeake Bay Rendezvous will be taking place right before the 2nd Annual  Bay Yacht Agency New England Rally - July/Aug-2010  - you can participate in one or both events! More info on the NE Rally

This N.E. rendezvous is for BYA or any Let's Go Cruising charterers.  (either booking a boat, or an individual cabin on a boat that is going), as well as any sailing clubs who might wish to charter a boat for their qualified members, or with a captain for their members.
