Morning coffee on Cuttyhunk...

New England Rendezvous.

In summer of 2005 a group of us at the Jeanneau Rendezvous started talking about the possibility of extending the 2006 rendezvous to include a New England leg.

Well, thanks to lots of hard work by Kris Vereen at the BYA office, as well as total support from a number of our staff, we were able to pull it off. Pictured, right, are the staff members that went along on the trip: Chris, Justin, Douglass, Kris and Eric--thanks to you all!

Well, in the end, we had easy winds and calm seas. No one had any real problems and, while I'd like to talk about our great stormy adventure, the truth is we had almost nothing but fair weather (that's why we chose this time of year.)

Our favorite place? Boy that's hard. I think a general consensus was Block Island, though for beautiful picture taking opportunities you can't beat Cuttyhunk--take a look at the Slide show  and see what you think.

Best Clam Chowder? The Black Pearl Restaurant in Newport.

Best Sunset, the edge of a storm at Cuttyhunk. Best Mooring--Nantucket harbor--easy and accommodating. Favorite place to hang out--"The Oar", Block Island.

Favorite gizmo--the cell phone amplifier that also amplified the air cards on our laptops.

There's so much more to talk about and we'll add owner's slides later.

The main thing is that this concept provided our owner's a chance to gain confidence by sailing in company with other experienced sailors.

If you're one of our owners--look for our notice for participation for next year. If you're looking for an excuse to buy a boat now and gain some experience in anticipation of joining us next year--why not just do it?

Want more planning information for any cruise your anticipating--here's the guide our owner's used with links to some great equipment.
