The engines are outside of the cabins to keep the smells and noise out of the interior. They are completely sound insullated. There is a compartment under the beam and adjacent from the stand up engine room to install and access ancillary equipment such as the water-maker, gen-set, A/C units and other equipment--keeping the noise out of the main cabin, and providing for more storage space.
