The new Jeanneau 54 the most popular, "over 50'" boat ever built--here's why.The Jeanneau 54 features a marriage of the Italian designer, Vitorrio Garroni, with the design team and engineers at Jeanneau. This design was brought to fruition with total, out-of-the-box thinking. A new production facility and an entirely new way to build repeatable quality, efficiently--came to the fore even before the boat design was finalized. This resulted in unprecedented quality and quality control, at a savings of up to 40 or even 50% over the competitions comparable models. That's exactly why over 100 were sold in the first year of production. Unprecedented! And, what a design! Every detail was planned to pamper the owner. 12 & 24V electrical systems were designed in to handle the loads of power assists for everything from electric winches, to windlasses and furling. The galley is aft, the aft stateroom can become one large cabin or we offer the famous split cabin, convertible version. When configured as strictly an owner's cabin--there is a separate head to starboard with a dedicated shower and vanity to port. The main saloon is large and comfortable with viewing ports out while seated. This makes an ideal social area with your choice of drop table for extra sleeping, or an elegant, multipurpose table with leaves that offer you a table for cocktails or dining. Why twin wheels?
No B.S. In heavy wind, you can sit outboard where you have the best view of on-coming seas so that you can work through them. In light air, you sit on the low side where you are most comfortable and can see around the Genoa. In both cases, you can keep your arm comfortably at your side--no reaching or straining. This configuration works exceptionally well with today's modern cruiser with the beam carried well aft. The alternative is to have a huge wheel or be forced to sit on the centerline. A side benefit is that you have a clear walk through to get to the aft swim platform or to the helm without having to climb up on the seat.
