IntroductionA funny thing about this businessWhen you see ads, or see boats on the internet or at a boat yard, in most cases all of the brokers have the same listings through the YachtWorld or BUC computer data base. Used boats are a commodity. Any broker can sell them to you so the difference is in the services offered and in who the broker is representing. Like with Real Estate, what many buyers dont realize is that brokers represent the sellers. If you call a broker who is listing a boat, or stop in to see a boat because you see a sign theres a 90% chance you will end up working with the broker who is representing the sellernot you! Imagine. Its a bit like asking your opponents lawyer to represent your interests in courtand you certainly wouldnt do that.
