Woman's lifestyles...

Several years ago, I became involved with Eric Smith, the owner of Bay Yacht Agency. At first I was a very reluctant sailor. However, with time, I began to see the similarities between sailing and the comfortable  Land Yachts I was familiar with. I have been a motor homer for the past 12 years and after I retired from owning my own business, I spent the  next 10 years traveling around our wonderful country in a Prevost bus--(I thought this was) The most luxurious way of traveling and still being close to nature.   Sailing helped me make this transition from enjoying land yachts to enjoying sailing yachts easily. I have an adventurous sprit. I enjoy racing cars and riding motorcycles, and now I find yachting an attractive lifestyle.  The stability, roominess and comfort of this new generation of yachts has spoiled me.  I have to admit, I didn't do it the hard way, working up from small boats and "camping out". I jumped right in to serious cruising boats with all the amenities. Electric winches, Air conditioning the works--and I don't feel a bit of quilt. I've earned everything I got getting here and now I intend to enjoy it!  I welcome you to join me in this exciting pastime of sailing whether it be on a Cat or Monohull, you can't go wrong either way.

So now, with some new experiences under my belt, I thought I would share some of the ideas and products I've come to enjoy and have experience with. I hope that you'll feel free to comment, or send ideas and links to your favorite web pages. Please e-mail me anytime with ideas or suggestions.

Happy sail'n, Douglass

P.S. I liked sailing so much, I bought the company! Now, Let's Go Cruising is my company and is affiliated with Bay Yacht Agency.

Here's the best of both worlds--we used the bus as our home base at the recent Jeanneau rendezvous in Solomons Island, MD and at Vera's White Sands Restaurant. See the slide show here.

Kris's Corner

Kris has been a key player at Bay Yacht Agency and Let's Go Cruising for years. She organizes rendezvous and special events, boat shows and more. In her spare time, she gets out on the water with friends and during rendezvous. Here is some of the feedback that she has gotten back from some of our owner's experiences:

Worried about sea-sickness? We've tried everything and the band works best, does not make you tired and works. More on the Sea-Band here.

Not a swimmer? Is this holding you back? Try SOS (or equivalent). This is a wearable floatation device that is not bulky. It lays flat and allows normal movement, but, should you go overboard, it immediately self inflates and turns into the ultimate life preserver. Check it out.
